Louis Nye Louis Nye is a weaver and artist based in Madrid. He works with digital Jacquard looms, making pictorial weavings that play with the limits of structure and visibility.

Louis Nye’s practice explores the instability of an image within a textile structure. In his pieces, the images are not printed on a material, but emerge in the very act of weaving, becoming intertwined with the very structure of the warp and weft. Nye proposes the concept of ‘unstable images’, where the fragility of the weave structure influences the way an image is read. In this sense, his work questions perception and materiality, turning the weave into a space for visual exploration and thought.
